St. Francis is best known for his concern for animals and creation and his embrace of simplicity and minimalism. On his saint day, October 4, we will have a special “Blessing of the Animals” as well as some additional fun activities.  The blessing services (approximately 10 minutes in length) will take place at 6:00, 6:30, and 7:00 in the Memorial Garden.  Additional activities will include snack (animals crackers, anyone?), making treats for dogs and cats, and making toys for animals at the Humane Society, as well as some stations exploring simplicity, the rule of St. Francis, and creation care.
