The spring Community Meals at St. Paul’s were very well-received by all participants, resulting in a flurry of kind cards expressing thanks. When we show kindness and hope, it gives others hope that love is stronger than the hatred and divisiveness in our world. We are currently planning our fall slate of Community Meals, so look for details about them later this summer!

Dear friends and neighbors,

[We] thank you very much for a delightful evening as your guests. The food was excellent, the “program” very informative, and the friendly conversation was heartwarming.

Besides the discussion at our table, I had the opportunity to talk with the lady who provided the main dish and others in the kitchen, and it was FUN!!

We thank you again for your act of LOVE, and plan to pay it forward.”

“Dear Reverend Board and members of St. Paul’s,

We would like to thank you for sharing a lovely meal and fellowship with us and the members of the Temple.

Sunday evening was a special time of sharing all things our faiths have in common, especially the wonderful people.”

“Dear St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Maumee,

Your idea of building bridges of understanding among religions is a fine undertaking and appreciated. Not only did I enjoy the dinner, I learned about some of the background of your church and its practices. Thank you for your effort.”

The Temple also sent a group card with a dozen notes written inside.

The members of the Turkish-American Society, who shared their Iftar meal with us last Saturday, also sent well-wishes:

“Thank you so much for everything you all have been doing! I and our Turkish friends were so glad to be at St. Paul’s and had a very nice time meeting new friends. We so appreciate everything you did.

I was also talking with my wife and friends about how we can find different opportunities to do things together in the future.

Thank you for honoring Ramadan with having us at St. Paul’s.”
