Beginning on Saturday, March 14: In order to support our community’s efforts at “physical distancing,” we have suspended all upcoming events and worship services at St. Paul’s.
This means both the 8:00 and 10:00 worship services will be suspended indefinitely. We highly suggest live-streaming a service from the National Cathedral in Washington DC. The link is posted here. Please visit the newsletter weekly for a sermon from the program officers, an offertory from Brad and Jane, and an invitation to Virtual Coffee Hour.
We also will not hold Lenten midweek suppers on Wednesday, but we will continue to have lectures using Zoom. That link will also be posted here.
All events have also been suspended. Only AA will continue to meet and use our building (with guidelines about sanitizing). Elizabeth Wayne Preschool will be closed according to Maumee City Schools’ guidelines. Under One Roof Food Pantry remains open, but with new drive-up procedures to minimize contact.
This is an anxious time, but also a holy time. It is a time when we can see God’s Spirit in the generosity that businesses and individuals are showing as they reach out to provide meals to children and grace to workers. It is a time when we become even more aware of the self-sacrifice of our medical and emergency personnel. We too can continue to seek God individually through regular spiritual disciplines and communally as we find ways to support our neighbors. The first way is to practice social distancing; but we might be able to find other ways be the church in coming days, whether it is by donating money, delivering food, or making phone calls to those without internet access or the ability to have visitors who might be feeling alone. Your ideas are welcome and encouraged!
Please keep visiting our website for new announcements and resources. Paul, Jennifer, and the vestry are doing their best to make rapid decisions and provide you with updates. However, we will continue to flesh out a plan over time. And, please, don’t hesitate to call Paul or Jennifer if you would like to talk.
