The Episcopal Church, in conjunction with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, has create a program called “For Such a Time a This: Pray, Fast, Act.”  On the 21st of each month, the date when federal food assistance benefits run out for many households, Episcopalians join in fasting, prayer, and advocacy.  Each month has a different social issue to be explored.

September 19th will be our first “For Such a Time as This” program, and the focus is “Becoming Beloved Community,” the Episcopal Church’s anti-racism initiative.  We will meet at 11:30 for the healing service, which will include special prayers.  At noon, bring your lunch and join us in the Choir Room for lunch and learn time.  We will watch a short video about Becoming Beloved Community, engage in discussion, and follow-up with hands-on advocacy efforts.
