Do you want to help make a difference this Earth Day, April 22? The Outreach Committee wanted to help organize an event that would provide an opportunity for fellowship with our fellow Maumee churches while making a difference in our community. Partners for Clean Streams has a program called “Clean Your Streams 365” where volunteers can choose a time and a location and PCS will provide the cleanup supplies (gloves, trash bags, data cards, and grabbers). One of the really exciting things about this program is that we serve as “citizen scientists” and record the items that we collect, either via physical data cards or the Clean Swell App. This data is then shared with theĀ Ocean Conservancy’s TIDES program, and the trash that we collect can actually help to change policies around the world. You can find more information from Partners for Clean Streams here.
We need to provide a headcount of volunteers to PCS a week or two prior to the cleanup so they can have the necessary equipment for us. If you’re interested, sign up either using the QR code or by clicking the link below!
