International Day of Peace celebration during 10:00 worship

Young Adult Care Package Work Day – pack and ship!

Children in Zataari Camp in Jordan. Peace:  The UN observes “World Peace Day,” or the International Day of Peace, on September 21 each year.  From the UN: “Sustainable Development Goal 16 “Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions” calls for promoting peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, providing access to justice for all and building effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels.  A peaceful society is one where there is justice and equality for everyone. Peace will enable a sustainable environment to take shape and a sustainable environment will help promote peace.” You can read more here.  At St. Paul’s, we will focus on peace through our worship and song  -you especially won’t want to miss this the unique offertory that day!

Packages:  St. Paul’s sends care packages to young adults ages 18-23 (age range is flexible) who are away at college, serving in the military, or have joined the work force.  The transition to “adulting” can be difficult, so we like to put love on our young adults and let them know that they have a church family who cares for them always.  Donations of items to include are always appreciated (the lighter the better for shipping costs): coffee, popcorn, energy bars, homemade cookies, gum, etc.  If possible, let me (Jennifer V) know what you are planning to donate so that I don’t duplicate your donations when I shop for extra items.   Also, if you are a young adult or a family member of a young adult, please make sure that I have their current address for shipping!

We will sort the goodies and make handmade cards at 11:15 in the Parish Hall – all are welcome to help!
