Friends,

I asked our parish secretary to prepare the Easter letter.  Ana created the mailing labels and such.  Then she waited.  But she grew impatient  waiting for me to write the actual letter.  So Ana asked AI to write the letter.  It is surprisingly good.   I could use it, but that would be plagiarism.  I don’t know who wrote or how.  Ana says it was written by ChatGPT.

Sometimes the best sermons are the simplest.    Most times I try too hard to impress you with deep and insightful thought.   I pressure myself to be creative and inspire you with wisdom.   The same is true of my Easter letters.  What can I write that will invite you to church?   What inspires you?

Gospel comes from the Greek, euangelio.  It means good news.   Literally, it means good announcement.   The good news is that Jesus died on the cross for our sins.  But his death wasn’t permanent.  The resurrection means that Jesus lives and our sins are still forgiven.  The good news is that God loves us so much that Jesus  lives and we live. This good news is as simple as it gets.  The good news is deeper and more profound than anything AI can generate.

Come celebrate the Good News with us.  Join us for Holy Week at church.  Let us relive the Christian story of the arrest, trial, crucifixion, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  Share with us as we announce the greatest salvation event in human history.  Come celebrate Easter.

Happy Easter,

Paul+
