Happy Easter!
This is the parish email normally sent on Fridays. Today is Maundy Thursday. It is the beginning of the Paschal Triduum. This is a period of three days in Holy Week. Specifically, it is a series of liturgical services that begin with Maundy Thursday. The triduum continues through Good Friday, and culminates with the Great Vigil of Easter on Holy Saturday at sunset.
I encourage you to engage the Paschal Triduum as part of your spiritual experience of Holy Week. We have offerings in-person and online.
Today on Maundy Thursday, the altar guild strips the altar. This is a solemn service set to music. Normally we have supper and eucharist together. Like last year, we are virtual.
Good Friday Services are in-person at Noon and 7PM. The online option will livestream at noon and the recording will be available all day. There is no registration needed for the in-person services on Friday. Please maintain our COVID protocols.
The Prayer Vigil is in the sanctuary on Friday, through the night, and Saturday. Appointments are available for persons or households. I will send security instructions to everyone who signs up. Please note: The altar guild will transition the altar hanings from black to white on Saturday morning. If you reserve your prayer time for Saturday afternoon, you will be sitting with Easter lillies.
The Great Vigil of Easter is a collaboration from each of the Episcopal parishes in West Mission Area (Northwest Ohio) of the Diocese of Ohio. Bishop Hollingsworth is our celebrant. I am your video editor. It will be available on Holy Saturday.
Jane Weber’s Easter Vigil Organ Recital will be online beginning Saturday. Her organ selections follow through Lent, Palm Sunday, Good Friday, and the Resurrection of Easter.
Easter Sunday services are 8AM, 10AM, and 11:15AM. We added the third service in order to limit the crowd at 8 and 10.
All the details are below. Check our website for more information.
Happy Easter,
