Sugarcane Documentary Screening
St. Paul’s Outreach Committee would like to invite you to a free screening of the National Geographic documentary Sugarcane, hosted by the Maumee Environmental and Tree Advisory Commission.
Thursday, January 29
6:30 PM
Maumee Indoor Theater
Several members of our Land Statement Committee viewed Sugarcane in 2025, when Episcopal Divinity School hosted a virtual screening followed by a conversation with the film’s directors. This Academy Award-nominated documentary addresses difficult and challenging topics related to the historical and ongoing treatment of Indigenous peoples, particularly within residential school systems. While these themes may be heavy, the film is powerful, important, and deeply moving, and we highly recommend attending.
We hope you will consider joining us for this meaningful community event.
