Root says Symptom 1 is that the church has less influence in society than it once had (division of sacred from secular).
Symptom 2 is that our beliefs don’t drive our actions as they once did (division of private and public).
Symptom 3 is that belief itself has changed (immanent frame, or the impossibility of transcendence).
Do you agree that these three symptoms are important? How have you experienced them in your life or in the church?
